Halloween Pics

Catching up

My, my, how time has flown. I know I should update this more often than I should but y'know how things get! So how is everyone? I can't believe my last blog entry was in October. A lot has happened since then. Mikey enjoyed his first Halloween in which we dressed him up as a bee. Matt was some sort of crazy hockey mask wearing, axe wielding maniac. I looked very stupid in a pink wig and Mark got himself an English bobbies hat. Pics will follow.

We also had some very bad news as Mark's mom passed away. It was sad for us all but Mark was happy that he got to spend some extra time with her over the summer as he worked in the UK for around 5 weeks. She will be sorely missed. Rest in peace Grandma!

Mark did then embark on a long Asia trip which meant that he spent a lot of November out of the country travelling to Australia, Singapore, Taiwan and Japan. (I'm sure there may be other places that I've missed)

Of course there were a lot of 1st's for Michael. At 6 months he was able to start sitting up by himself. He was still a bit unsteady but he loved rolling back on his back, he thought it was a fun game. At 7 months he had his first Flu shot along with his other shots, he didn't much care for it. We then had a family trip to the UK at the start of December as Mark and I had to work in the UK for a week. Auntie Mel looked after Michael and Matthew for us. We managed to spread some of Grandma's ashes on the Moors and for Matthew and I it was quite special as we didn't get to go to her funeral.

As Mikey was more aware then when he went before he was very unsettled and wouldn't sleep very well. We have to thank Granny (my mom) for putting up with him while we went out for a beer as he was a Moody little bugger. On the flight home he started teething which wasn't any fun for him or us and we then had to spend the night in Chicago as the Heathrow flight was delayed so we missed our connecting flight. That was another night where Michael and us didn't get much sleep. Not long after that though he did get his first tooth. All that for one tooth. Lord help us!

We then got ready to enjoy Mikey's first Christmas. He was a bit too young to enjoy it but the rest of us did and it was fun to see him just stare at the Christmas Presents. Matt certainly had a good Christmas as he got a double bass pedal for his drum set, courtesy of Uncle Michael, Paul and Granny and a custom drum head courtesy of Grandad, Minerva and Faye, Guitar Hero world tour from Mark and I and still had some money left from Auntie Mel. Good times, good times.

This now brings us to January 2009. We decided to travel to Myrtle Beach SC to see in the New Year where we set off some fireworks on the beach and just hung out. It was colder than we thought it would be but it was nice. Again Mikey didn't like to sleep in a different crib so the first nice he wasn't too happy but for New Years Eve he slept quite literally like a baby and Mark, Matt and I stayed up to welcome in the New Year.

Mark did a bit a travelling in January as he embarked on his East Coast tour when he travelled up the East Coast for a few weeks but came back for weekends. Mikey now sits happily on the floor but just as we think he is going to crawl he sits back up again. Now at 8 months he has his 2nd tooth. We did get 5 inches of snow which closed the schools and the Daycare for 2 days so we had 2 snow days. Matt and I built a snow man while Mikey was taking a nap and when we brought Mikey outside to see the snow he didn't much care for it. When Matt would hold the snow close to him he would lean backwards away from hit. As is the case with North Carolina the snow didn't last long so we were all back at work, school, daycare before we knew it. We also decided to buy Michael a walker to see if it would help him with wanting to get around himself. As of yet he's not really sure of what to do so we'll keep trying.

At 9 months we decided to go to Memphis which was actually last weekend. It was fun. We got to see Graceland and Sun Studio's where Elvis recorded his first 5 songs. Matt got to go on the Gibson factory tour and Mark was unfortunately working. We visited him at his conference but them went downtown where they had bands playing both in bars and in the parks. On the last day we were there Matt got the Flu so he really wasn't feeling very well. His temperature was through the roof and he is still off school today. It looks like Mark is catching it too so I'm guessing it's a matter of time before Mikey and I get it too.

My word that was a lot of typing. I'll get some pic up here now so take it easy. Mezza out!!!
